The Airtec spray system is known as a twin fluid system, which means both air & liquid are used in the process of liquid atomization. This means that the droplets produced by the AIRTEC are significantly different from those produced by conventional spraying systems.

Extensive researches carried out by AFRC engineering at Silsoe have shown that the AIRTEC droplets travel slower then conventional droplets of similar size. The fact of this being AIRTEC droplets can have 50% more air in them. The overall results are that AIRTEC droplets are more likely to spread & stick on the target rather than bounce off & roll away to waste.

The air injection allows easy control of droplet from coarse to very fine and also easy to control on the go while spraying. A curtain of air from the nozzles entrains these droplets down into the crop & minimizes drift. The curtain of air also protects droplets from winds, meaning AIRTEC users can spray in higher winds then other nozzle users.
